Simple Christianity

Christianity is simple. We receive Jesus as our Saviour and Lord and in receiving Him we yield ourselves to Him. Receiving Him should be followed by a lifetime of continually and repeatedly yielding ourselves to Him. Because He is God, Jesus is the only one who is able to give us power to become the sons of God and direct our lives. Only God can do those things. If we attempt to receive Jesus as Saviour, but not our Lord and our God it doesn*t work. The simple truth is that if Jesus was not God He could not be the Saviour either. Our part of salvation is to yield to Him. He enables us to do our part and does everything we cannot do Himself. Unbelievers who never yield themselves to Him never get saved. Believers who yield to Him only intermittently have a multitude of problems, a minimum of His help and a minimum of rewards.

2 Corinthians 11:3: But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Romans 6:13: Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Doubting Thomas finally got it right.

John 20:28: And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Philippians 2:12: Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

1 Corinthians 3:9: For we are labourers together with God: ye are God*s husbandry, ye are God*s building.

2 Corinthians 6:1: We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

Matthew 11:28: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

2 Corinthians 3:5: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

John 15:5: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

1 Corinthians 15:10: But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Hebrews 13:20: Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

2 Thessalonians 2:16: Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Unbelief makes things s-o-o-o complicated. Why make it complicated?
